“Honoring our heritage, we are a dynamic body welcoming all to Christ’s spacious table,
illumined to serve God with imagination and love.”
Eat, Pray, Sing!
Join FPC Director of Music Clint Miller each Wednesday through May 26 at 7 p.m. on Zoom as he helps us explore the texts and stories of the great hymns and songs of our faith.  The theme for the remainder of the program is “Music of God’s Creation.” Email Clint Miller if you are interested in joining.

Upcoming Mobile Food Pantry
The next mobile food pantry of 2021 is scheduled for Saturday, May 22. We are in need of volunteers to help sort and distribute food to our neighbors in need. Please click here to sign up to volunteer. Volunteers are needed in the Great Room beginning at 7:45 a.m.
Bell tower restoration update
The brick work project on the bell tower will begin Monday, May 10. There will be scaffolding, a lift and other mechanized equipment on site. There will be no access to the portico or main entrance to the church and everyone will have to enter through the downstairs drive-through until further notice. Maintenance staff will block off the restricted area with orange cones, so please do not enter these areas until it is safe to do so. The main entrance will be reopened when the crew moves to the back side of the bell tower, however, the portico/door at the elevator at that time will be not accessible. We will keep you informed of any further details as they become available.

Who we are
Each Sunday, you’ll find a gathering of people, seeking to know more about God. We meet at 9:30 for a service meant to aid you in experiencing the presence of God and be inspired to leave, wanting to love your neighbor and serve others. While worship is more “traditional”, it is not static but invites those worshipping to connect through music, prayer and scripture. Each service runs about an hour. Children under third grade leave worship near the beginning of the service to go to their Godly Play space, where they hear Bible stories and wonder about God through play and imagination. All are welcome. Everyone. Come join us as you are.

Much has changed due to the pandemic. GatherRing meets at 2 p.m. on Tuesdays in Fellowship Hall. The Chancel choir meets at 7 p.m. Wednesdays on Zoom for fellowship and reflection. For more information, email Director of Music Clint Miller.

Our Mission
God calls us to love one another. Here at First Presbyterian Church, we have a history of caring for the least of these and are in the process of imagining how we can love in deeper and broader ways than we already do. We believe that mission is done in partnership and alongside those we are serving. Currently, we financially support many local missions, but also participate in hands-on missions.

Each month First Presbyterian Church collects personal care products, such as toothpaste, soap, feminine products and childcare items, and are distributed to those in need through Christian Clearing House.

Click here for the monthly schedule, however, donations are currently suspended until further notice due to the Covid-19 pandemic.

FPC hosts four mobile food pantry distributions throughout the year in cooperation with Chopin Hall and other community service organizations to provide food for the hungry throughout our community.

Dates for the remainder of the year are May 22, Aug. 14 and Dec. 4. Each will be from 8:30 a.m.-10:30 a.m.

Click here to register to volunteer for the May 22 mobile food pantry.

Through world mission of our denomination, we support mission co-workers Rev. Jed and Jenny Koball in Peru. Each year, we support their ministry financially and in 2017 took an intergenerational mission trip to Peru to visit them. To learn more click here.

The role of stewardship
Stewardship is a year-round commitment to the careful and responsible allocation of resources. You will hear more about financial gifts during our fall season because the congregation is asked to make pledges for the upcoming year and those pledges develop our budget. It will only be through our financial gifts that our ministries are able to be maintained and expanded in the community.

Our philosophy
First Presbyterian Church Nursery School is a preschool learning center founded that was in 1975 that offers half-day classes (mornings and afternoons) for 3- and 4-year-olds. Because a child learns through their play in their preschool years, our program  is play-oriented. Click here to learn more about our nursery school.
Nursery School registration is open for 2021-22
Registration for the 2021-22 school year is open. Click here for a registration form.
The Nursery School also is in need of substitute teachers for the 2021-22 school year. A teaching degree is not required. Anyone interested in learning more can call Sharon Vaas at 419-423-0054.
